half circle maxi skirt | easy sewing tutorial
I love maxi skirts–I feel like the length is pretty flattering on me and they usually manage to hide most of my "problem areas". However I do have one beef with them: most maxi skirts you find in the stores are cut quite slim through the hips. Combine a tighter cut with the lightweight stretchy fabric they're usually made in, and a little too much ends up on display when I wear them. Like my mommy tummy. And a few other rolls I prefer to proceed bearded. What I really want from the perfect maxi skirt is some fullness and curtain.
After realizing how easy a knit one-half circle skirt was last calendar week, I decided to give a half circle maxi a try. I dear information technology! It's as comfortable as any maxi brim, but the fullness merely makes it await a bit better. Plus information technology swishes as I walk, which is kind of fun.
I followed the exact same steps every bit I did in the half circumvolve skirt tutorial, just cutting the hemline quite a bit longer. This meant I needed 3 full yards of 60 inch wide fabric.
If you'd like to make ane, follow the instructions in last week's mail service.
